The operation

A Western Australian resources business operating a remote site where a large share of the work is delivered by contractors. The operations team owns delivery on the ground rather than administering it from an office, so supervisors carry real accountability for programs, cost and safety outcomes.

The role

Two supervisor seats in the operations team. They sit on the standard supervisory reporting line, but the accountabilities are weighted toward delivery rather than day to day crew running: you develop the work programs, manage the contractors who execute them, hold the risk register, and lead the investigation when something goes wrong.

It suits someone with formal project management training behind them and enough time in the sector to know how a program comes apart before it does. Permanent and full time, 8/6 FIFO out of Perth.

Key duties

  1. Develop the work programs and carry them through to delivery on site
  2. Manage contractors from scope and mobilisation through to performance and close out
  3. Own project and risk management across the programs you are accountable for
  4. Lead stakeholder engagement across site teams, contractors and external parties
  5. Investigate incidents, establish cause and drive corrective actions to closure
  6. Maintain the risk register and keep controls current as the programs change
  7. Track cost and progress against the approved work programs
  8. Set and hold the safety standard for all work under your control

What you will need

  • Formal project management training, essential
  • Working knowledge of the exploration sector, essential
  • Demonstrated experience supervising contractors on a remote site
  • Incident investigation competency using a recognised methodology
  • Stakeholder engagement experience across internal teams and external parties
  • Current C class driver’s licence
  • Full Australian working rights
