Production Engineer – Underground
Drill and blast design and short term scheduling on an underground operation ramping into stoping.
The operation
An underground hard rock operation in Western Australia in a growth phase, with the production team still being built out.
The role
A production engineering seat reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, supporting delivery of the underground mine plan. Drill and blast design is the core of it, alongside short term scheduling and daily production tracking.
It suits an engineer with two to five years underground who wants stoping ramp up exposure and the chance to work on a paste backfill circuit as it comes online. Permanent and full time.
Key duties
- Develop and implement drill and blast designs in Deswik or similar
- Daily production monitoring, tracking and data analysis
- Short term scheduling across development, stoping, services, maintenance and backfilling
- Support the ramp up of stoping activities
- Collaborate with technical and operational teams to continuously improve performance
- Contribute to operational readiness for upcoming infrastructure and production changes
What you will need
- Degree in mining engineering, or equivalent underground operational experience
- Two to five years in underground production engineering roles
- Drill and blast design experience essential, Deswik preferred
- Backfill experience highly regarded, with a paste plant coming online
- Understanding of Australian mining practices and safety standards
- Ability to obtain a national police clearance and pass a pre-employment medical and D and A screen
