Heavy Diesel Fitter – Mobile Plant
Permanent staff seat on an even time roster, working a Komatsu mobile fleet with real diagnostic variety.
The operation
A Western Australian mining operation that employs its maintenance team directly rather than through contractors. Flat structure, short chain of command, and a workshop close to camp.
The role
An experienced HD Fitter is sought for the mobile fleet, covering servicing, diagnostics and repair across engines, transmissions, hydraulics and drivetrains, plus the ancillary and support machinery.
This is a permanent staff position rather than a contract seat, so it carries annual leave, sick leave and a consistent site. Komatsu experience is what the client is really after.
Key duties
- Service and maintain mobile plant equipment across the fleet
- Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, hydraulics and drivetrains
- Preventative maintenance across all equipment
- Complete inspection checklists and report on equipment condition
- Work on ancillary and support machinery including fuel trucks
- Contribute to pre-starts and post-incident reviews
- Ensure all work is completed to safety and quality standards
What you will need
- Trade certificate or diploma in mechanical, heavy diesel or mobile plant
- Post-trade experience on mobile plant, Komatsu highly desirable
- Strong diagnostic and fault finding skills, essential
- Franna, IT loader or forklift tickets highly desirable
- Valid Australian driver’s licence
- Current national police clearance
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen
- Full Australian working rights
