Exploration Geologist – Gold
Field based role running diamond and RC programs on an established gold operation, with a crew to lead.
The operation
An established gold operation in Western Australia with an active exploration program running alongside production. The geology team is growing.
The role
A hands on Exploration Geologist to join the geology team, working diamond and RC programs from planning through to interpretation. The role is field based on an 8/6 FIFO roster out of Perth.
It suits someone who wants the drill crew supervision and mentoring exposure that moves a geologist toward senior, in a team where you contribute to targeting rather than just executing.
Key duties
- Geological fieldwork including mapping, sampling, drill site preparation and geochemical surveys
- Support early stage exploration through geochemical and geophysical programs, target generation and drill planning
- Supervise the drilling team for safe, efficient and cost effective operations
- Manage sample collection, data validation and QA/QC processes
- Contribute to geological interpretation and analysis of exploration results
- Lead and mentor field assistants and drilling crews
- Coordinate field logistics including equipment and consumables
- Maintain accurate records and assist with reporting
What you will need
- BSc in Geology or equivalent
- Minimum two years as an Exploration Geologist, ideally in Archean gold
- Solid grasp of QA/QC protocols, drilling and sampling techniques
- Proficiency with ArcGIS, acQuire or Leapfrog desirable
- WA C class driver’s licence or above
- Current national police clearance
- Full Australian working rights
