Underground Planning Engineer

A gold mining company based in Western Australia is seeking a seasoned Underground Planning Engineer to join its team. The company operates serval mining operations, with a few more under development.

This role as a Planning Engineer is working on an 8:6 FIFO roster ex-Perth and reports to the Underground Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 2-weekly and 13-weekly schedules through planning and design work.
  • Engage in various mine design tasks, including lateral, vertical, and production aspects.
  • Evaluate designs for their economic viability.
  • Cultivate a robust safety culture within the work environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior Engineers.

Requirements

  • Holds a Mining Engineering degree from a recognized institution.
  • Proficient in production drill & blast operations.
  • Previous experience in planning roles within the industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Familiarity with Deswik or similar software used for design.
  • Possession of a First Class Ticket is advantageous.
