A gold mining company based in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Alternate Underground Manager for their flagship operation. The role involves overseeing the combined operations of historic gold mines and the commencement of new projects.
This role operates on an 8:6 FIFO roster ex-Perth, reporting to the Underground Manager. It offers a competitive remuneration package and opportunities for career growth within a dynamic company.
Responsibilities
- Fulfill the role of Alternate Underground Manager as per WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant WHS Acts, Regulations, standards, and legislation.
- Manage underground activities to achieve budget forecasts.
- Oversee technical aspects including mine planning, scheduling, production, and ventilation.
- Conduct risk assessments and workplace inspections for hazard identification.
- Mentor and train a team of underground engineers.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering.
- Possession of a WA First Class Mine Manager’s ticket.
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Significant experience in underground operations, production, and planning.
